Canned Food Drive

The can food drive at RMS took place from November 4th– December 18th. Students were asked to bring in any non-perishable food item and donate it to the collection box in their Advisory class. The food collected went to Helping Hands in Romulus to help with Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. RMS Leadership also donated 12 hams. The winning class, Ms. Hirchert’s Advisory, collected over 90 items and was awarded with breakfast cooked by Mr. Edwards!

Toy Drive

RMS Leadership hosts an annual toy drive during December. Students and staff donate new, unopened toys and in return receive a raffle ticket. At the end of the drive, RMS Leadership donated over 50 toys to Helping Hands in Romulus! The student and staff winner from the raffle was Jeffery Jones and Ms. Hoskins, respectively, and each received a gift card.  This was our most successful toy drive to date!

Red Ribbon Week

Romulus Middle School Leadership Students hosted “A Healthy Me is Drug Free” Campaign October 23rd-30th. Students were asked at lunch to take the pledge to remain drug free and sign their name on a red ribbon to hang on the poster. After students took the pledge, they received a Drug Free rubber bracelet. Students also got involved by decorating their Advisory teacher’s door with the “A Healthy Me is Drug Free” theme. The winning door, pictured at left, was Mr. Mendiola’s 8th grade Advisory class. RMS Leadership students also created posters to hang around the school to remind students to remain drug free!
